Our seniors would be grateful to you for helping them get around. Do you have a few hours a week or a month to help our seniors go to the doctors, get some groceries or run some errands?
Do you love being outdoors doing light yard work or gardening, but live in an apartment with no yard? Our seniors would greatly appreciate your help tidying and beautifying their yards
You can use your expertise to help us too, like these marketing students from Santa Clara University. We’ve also had students from San Jose state, help us with our social media presence.
Do you like talking with people on the phone and trying to help them with their needs? We have dedicated volunteers like Beth who patiently talk to our seniors from 9am to 1pm on week days.
Would you like to spread some holiday cheer? During Christmas we have wonderful volunteers that help us wrap and deliver small gifts to our seniors.

Volunteers are the “heart” of Heart of the Valley!  If you have a heart for seniors.  Click through our slideshow above and listen to the video from some of our volunteers.  Then look through the Opportunities to serve to see what might best use your gifts and talents!  Join us today!  If you have any questions about volunteering please call our Volunteer Coordinator, Cyndi Goble at (408) 241-1571 or email her at kirby@servicesforseniors.org.  She’d love to chat with you!

Due to COVID-19, Heart of the Valley’s office will be temporarily closed until further notice. However, Heart of the Valley is offering four services to seniors, 65 yrs. or older in our service area or volunteers interested in helping them.  These services are a friendly caller, technology help over the phone, no-contact yard work, and no-contact household hazardous waste (HHW) pickups.  If you are interested in volunteering for one of these services, please either telephone (408) 241-1571 or email us at contact@servicesforseniors.org and leave your name, phone number, and a brief description of your need.  We will get back to you as soon as we can.
