If you are age 70½ or older, you may be able to make a tax-efficient gift from your IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
When IRS requirements are met, a QCD allows you to transfer up to the annual limit directly from your IRA to Heart of the Valley without including the distribution in your taxable income.
For many donors, this can result in meaningful tax savings. If you are age 73 or older, a QCD may also satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
Contact your IRA administrator and request a Qualified Charitable Distribution payable to:
Ask your custodian to send the distribution directly to:

Notify us when you initiate a QCD so we can provide the written acknowledgment needed for your tax records and record your gift accurately.
Specific IRS requirements must be followed for a QCD to qualify, and the federal and state tax impact depends on your individual circumstances. We do not give tax or legal advice, and we strongly encourage you to consult your tax advisor before initiating a distribution.
