David Muhlitner
President and Chair of the Board
David Muhlitner is a retired corporate attorney who spent the latter part of his career as in-house counsel to Silicon Valley–based technology companies. He graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan Law School.
David has served on the Board since 2020. His enthusiasm for Heart of the Valley’s mission stems from personal experience – the difficulty he encountered trying to arrange in-home services for his elderly mother, who was living in another state. That experience gave him a firsthand appreciation of the support Heart of the Valley provides to help older adults remain independent.
Daniel Lo
Vice President and Vice Chair of the Board
Daniel Lo joined Heart of the Valley, Services for Seniors in 2017. He currently serves as the Vice President and Vice Chair, Board of Directors.
Daniel is a healthcare analytics and innovation leader at Sutter Health for the past 5 years leading initiatives in data governance, business intelligence, and digital transformation. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends traveling, cooking, and hiking.
Kirsten Winters
Secretary and Board Member
Kirsten Winters brings extensive experience with the concerns and needs of older adults, both from helping her own family members and as a long-time volunteer in her community.
She joined Heart of the Valley’s board in 2020 and currently serves as Secretary.
Eva Schulte
Treasurer and Board Member
Eva Schulte is the Chief Operating Officer of Catalyst Family Inc., where she oversees operations, finance, fundraising, marketing and communications, and compliance for one of California’s largest nonprofit child development organizations. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, financial stewardship, and organizational strategy, Eva is passionate about building sustainable organizations that strengthen communities.
As Treasurer of Heart of the Valley, she brings expertise in financial oversight, governance, and long-term planning, helping ensure the organization’s resources are managed responsibly in support of its mission.
Mariel Bolhouse
Board Member
Mariel Bolhouse has been involved with Heart of the Valley since 2015, first as a volunteer and now as a member of the Board.
Professionally, she develops medical devices and leads an early-stage medical device company. Outside of work, she’s an avid ice hockey player, hiker, and enthusiastic DIYer.
Inderjeet Saroya
Board Member
Inderjeet Saroya is an enterprise technology services leader with extensive experience guiding large-scale programs for global organizations. Over his career, he has held several senior client-facing leadership roles. He brings a strategic, detail-oriented approach to every initiative he leads – balancing big-picture vision with hands-on execution.
Inderjeet is passionate about applying his operational and leadership expertise to support the mission of Heart of the Valley Services for Seniors, Inc., and helping ensure the organization continues to provide vital services and support to seniors in the community.
Alma Soto
Executive Director
Alma Soto serves as the Executive Director of Heart of the Valley Services for Seniors, bringing more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership, volunteer, and community service experience. With an MBA and a deep passion for serving others, Alma is committed to strengthening Heart of the Valley and expanding its impact in the community.
She is inspired by the organization’s mission to help seniors maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Alma is honored to work alongside Heart of the Valley’s dedicated volunteers, supporters, and community partners to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local seniors.
